POP D’ÉPOQUE: TIME WARP IN THE SATOSPHÈRE
"Around the room, an elaborate, symbolic
sun grows and washes over the crowd from the top of the dome-shaped structure. It turns into lines and sound waves as it travels up and down, sinking everyone deep inside a bizarre universe that is rococo, arabesque, off-beat."

WE BECAME DIGITAL CHARACTERS IN MONTREAL'S BAROQUE OPERA

by Greg Bouchard

"Since the opera is set in the 18th-century, I naturally brought along my 18th-century British history professor and dissertation advisor, because costumes and makeup are totally what higher education is about.."

Clytie

Short & Sweet at
festival Phénomena, Oct 2013

Milk maiden Clytie falls in love with Apollon, has her heart broken and dies. Transformed by the gods into a flower, she is forced to follow the sun's voyage across the sky (not to mention Apollon's nightly hookups with other maidens) until she wilts away.

Héro & Leandre

Montréal Baroque festival, Oct 2013

The tragic story of Héro, a virgin priestess of Aphrodite who falls in love with the mortal, Leandre. The wicked interference of the gods leads to both their bodies being thrashed against the rocks at the bottom of a cliff. Enjoy!
